A responsible matchday checklist

Five boundaries to decide before any bet, never during one.

Set the money limit first

Choose an amount you can lose without affecting rent, food, bills, savings, or debt payments. Stop when that limit is reached. A loss is not a reason to increase the next amount.

Never borrow money to bet, and do not treat betting as an income plan.

Set a time limit as well

Choose when you will stop before the event begins. Avoid decisions when angry, affected by alcohol, sleep-deprived, or trying to recover an earlier loss.

Regular breaks make it easier to notice when entertainment is becoming compulsive.

Know when not to participate

Do not participate if you are under 18, are in a prohibited location, have requested self-exclusion, or cannot respect your limits.

Use locally available blocking, limit-setting, and support tools if gambling is causing harm.
